Eyes of Steel Another Finnish Metal Band for ya here... this time its in the vein of traditional heavy metal mixed with thrash and speed elements and some kinda hardcore punkish feel along the lines of Metallica, Misfits, Pro-pain, Black Sabbath, Exodus, Pantera, Earth Crisis, Hatebreed...etc, its based heavily on groove of course, nice free flowing riffing and drum beats that make you want to bang your head... vocals you can understand, and sing along with.... anthem type chorus parts.... and even a bass and drum break here and there....
Sound wise its pretty loud and solid sounding, not harsh in anyway, comfortable to listen to and I don't skip any of these tracks when I listen to it, so that must mean they are all good enough and entertaining enough that they are worthy of being played all the way through.
If your interested in hearing a Finnish Metal Band playing heavy metal like it was meant to be played, loud, hard and heavy with aggression, speed and slamming mosh parts, a few solo's here and there... then check out The Howl because they can for sure deliver the goods. Thrashy, speedy, groovy, and memorably catchy.
They have been @ it since 1998 and have kept the same line up, now that's impressive... most bands have some kind of line up changes in that amount of time, so you know these dudes are very used to playing in this band together, and it shows in the powerful song writing efforts delivered here on this 5 song demo.
